Who is the protagonist?

The main character is Miyamoto Musashi. CAPCOM portrays him as a young swordsman who arrives in Kyoto to prove his swordsmanship is unmatched. After encountering the Genma, he is forced to equip the Oni Gauntlet, gaining extraordinary power and the ability to absorb enemy souls.

The conflict behind his powers

Musashi wants to prove himself with his own blade. The Oni Gauntlet gives him supernatural strength he does not want to depend on. That tension between personal skill and Oni power is part of his character, not a class system the player can freely swap.

Toshiro Mifune is the face model, not the voice actor

CAPCOM and PlayStation confirm that the late actor Toshiro Mifune’s likeness was used for Musashi’s face. Face modeling, motion performance and voice acting are separate credits.
